The Scottie West (JP) occurrence is located at an elevation of approximately 1635 metres on a steep south-southeast–facing slope, approximately 2.3 kilometres south-southeast of Mount White-Fraser.

The area is underlain by andesitic volcanic rocks of the Lower Jurassic Unuk River Formation (Hazelton Group) that have been intruded by granodioritic rocks of the Lower Jurassic Summit Lake (Berendon Glacier) or Texas Creek stock (Texas Creek Plutonic Suite).

Locally, a pyritic, sericite-altered argillite with chlorite after biotite and limonitic fracture fillings hosts gold values. Quartz veining and gossanous zones are also reported in the area.

Work History

In 2020, Roughrider Exploration Ltd. completed a 474 line-kilometre airborne magnetic and electromagnetic survey and a minor program of prospecting and geochemical (rock, silt and soil) sampling on the area as the Scottie West property. A subcrop sample (S842707) assayed 1.01 grams per tonne gold (Pautler, J. [2021-01-18]: NI 43-101 Technical Report on the Scottie West Project, Stewart area, British Columbia).
